SMS Opt-In Consent Flow

This page documents how Drop Watcher collects SMS consent from users. The signup form is personalized per-user after account creation; this page demonstrates the exact consent flow and language presented at the point of collection.

How consent is collected

1
User visits instockornot.club and fills out the watchlist signup form with their name, email, and the URL + keywords they want to monitor.
2
User optionally enters their phone number in the SMS field. No phone number is required to use the service — email alerts are available without SMS.
3
User checks an explicit, unchecked-by-default SMS consent checkbox. The checkbox is required to enable SMS. The form does not enroll a user in SMS without this checkbox being actively checked.
4
The consent disclosure language (shown in the form demo →) is displayed directly below the phone number field and checkbox at the point of collection, before the form is submitted.
5
On form submission, the backend stores sms_approved: true only when the consent checkbox was checked. No SMS is ever sent to a user without this flag set.
